I am. I would really like a tall glass of ice, cold Coke. Nope. That's not what I'm talking about. That's not what Jesus was talking about in John 4:7-45. Jesus was talking about spiritual thirst, and that's what I'm talking about.
The basics of John 4:7-45, is that a woman from Samaria came to a well, where Jesus was at, to draw water. While she was drawing water, Jesus asked for a drink. The woman was shocked that a well-off Jew would want a drink from her, a Samaritan. Jesus said that He would give her living water, and she would never be thirsty again. The woman was now very confused. Jesus explained that "The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." The Samaritan woman now understood that Jesus was talking about Eternal Life. She replied, "Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water."
This woman came to the well to fill up on Earthly water, but instead she filled up on Heavenly water. Wow! This woman was thirsty for the meaning of life. Are you thirsty for the meaning of life? Do you always rejoice because you are filled with living water? I don't. Do you always get thirstier for Jesus and His Word? Do you always want to drink and get your fill?
