Having A Glocal Vision-Part 2: Giving

I'll be frank: the situation in Haiti needs funds for things like temporary shelters, food and water, clothes, missions, and stuff like that. If the Lord has blessed you with money, then maybe you'd like to consider giving a donation to Haiti. No, God does not force us to, but He does want us to. He commands us to be good stewards of what He gives us; giving to Haiti is being wise with our money.

Some of my faithful followers who followed me on my dad's blog, might remember a post I did on it entitled, "How To Honour God With Your Time, Treasures, and Talents." I shared a verse that I would like to share with you now.

2 Corinthians 9:7- "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

God wants us to give. He gave to us, so we should give to others. Also, like it says at the end, if you are going to give to Haiti, don't grumble, mumble and/or complain. ". . . God loves a cheerful giver." If you're gonna groan and moan, you might as well not give.

You may say, though, "Wait a second here, Jaquelle. Everyone is asking me for my money for Haiti. Should I give to all of them?" My answer, "No!" You can't go anywhere without being begged for money for Haiti. You never know if the people you are giving money to is reliable. Some people take the money for themselves, others, like some charities, send a little to Haiti and take the rest for them. If you'd like to make a donation, I recommend some of the following:
