Fighting in the Church-Part 2: Friend of the World or Friend of God, but NOT Both
James 4:4-8
James 4:4-8
My dad pointed out three very important things that need to be taken notice of today:
- You can't be friends with God and the world. They are opposites. This is an either/or, not an and/both. If you are friends with the world, then you are at enmity with God. If you are friends with God, then you are at enmity with they world. (James 4:4)
- You can't submit to God and the devil. That may sound pretty harsh, and you may say to me, "Jaquelle, I'm not really a Christian, but I don't exactly attend the Church of Satan." Well, to that I say, if you are against God in any way shape or form, then you are submitting to the devil. (James 4:7)
- Finally, you can be proud or humble, but not both. God is very clear with us. If we are proud, haughty, and boastful, we are only focusing on ourselves. If we are meek and humble, though, we are putting others and God first. What do you think? (James 4:6)
