Queen Victoria inherited the throne of England at 18 years old. Despite England's troubled and immoral past, Victoria vowed, "I will be good." Under her 64 year reign, the Victorian Age prospered. She expanded the British Empire and soon it covered a quarter of the globe. Queen Victoria was married to Prince Albert and had 9 children. Their strong, loving marriage was an example to all of England. But Victoria took no credit of England's success to herself. When a visiting African chief approached her and asked to see the secret of England's greatness, Queen Victoria handed him a Bible and said, "This is the secret of England's greatness."
Queen Victoria is the first of a few Christian monarchs that I want to talk about. You'll soon see a pattern of what happens when a ruler governs their country by God's power instead of man's. I'd like to focus on Queen Victoria and her example to us today, though.
Queen Victoria had many an attribute that we can try and model in our own lives. Such as:

- Knowing that God was behind her success.
- Vowing to "be good" and govern her nation under God.
