Don't Be A Litter Bug!

"The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it."
~ Psalm 24:1 ~

On Saturday, I participated in my church's community road clean-up. You would be shocked to see how much garbage was littered among the ditches and along the side of the road. You would be disgusted to realize just how many people litter. They carelessly toss a Tim Horton's cup out their car window without so much as a second thought. People throw chocolate wrappers, McDonald's bags, napkins, straws, paper, old CD's, and you name it out their windows. They are not obeying the verse above, which says, "The earth is the Lord's."

If someone is tossing a paper cup out the window, I doubt that they would think, "Oh, I'm about to mar the beautiful creation that God has blessed me with." No! Of course not. The problem is that we forget sometimes that the earth is the Lord's. We need to help the environment, and keep it clean and healthy. The roadside clean-up was just one thing that I could do to help preserve the earth's natural beauty.

"The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens." (Proverbs 3:19) The Lord made this earth for us as a blessing; let's take care of it! Here's three ways to help the environment:
  1. By first and foremost appreciating the earth and its natural beauty and recognizing the blessing and the Creator.
  2. By recycling.
  3. By NOT LITTERING!
