Daddy's Daughter: Insights on My Dad's Sermon

Today Dad preached the first installment in his three part series on what we are as a church. His first message was called "A Light of the Gospel." This will make a whole lot more sense to you if you know the name of our church: Gospel Light Baptist Church.

Now, as far as the message this morning goes, here's my bottom line -- Either we're cockroaches or we're moths. Here's what I mean: cockroaches hide under rocks, so when you flip over a rock and light engulfs the spot under the rock, the cockroaches scatter. Jesus is the light (John 8:12). If you're a cockroach, when Jesus comes into your life, you scatter. You don't want any part of the light. You'd rather live in darkness. Unlike the moths. Moths are drawn to the light. We always want to be in the light. We push ourselves from the darkness to the light.

So, do tell: Are you a cockroach or a moth?
