Daddy's Daughter: Insights on My Dad's Sermon

Once upon time there were some cookies. They were a group of your regular cookies. They had all come out of the same Pillsbury can, so they all looked absolutely identical. Hundreds of these exact same same cookies, cut from the same mold. But then some new cookies began to appear. They didn't look like the other cookies. They didn't walk or talk like the other cookies. So the question that formed was: where did these new cookies come from? The answer is simple: new cookie cutter.

In today's text of Mark 2:18-22, we find out that Jesus, the new Cookie Cutter, broke the mold. He did things differently than the "normal" people. So we realize that His followers must be different from today's "normal" people. We are commanded to be of a different mold, a different mindset, and a different attitude than this world. We are commanded to be of Jesus' mold.
