I don't know about you, but I love my computer. It's my connection to the world. A lot of my friends don't live here so I only talk to them by e-mail. A lot of my relatives are far away, so I talk to them by the computer. I love to write so I do a lot of stories and school work on the computer. I also like to keep up with the weather, the news, the blogs I read, what's new in Christian entertainment, and stuff like that. But lately I've been feeling convicted. How many times do we pick up our computers before our Bibles each morning? For me it's usually always! Oh, I do my Bible reading in the morning, but usually after I've done all my fiddling on my laptop.
Maybe for you it isn't your computer. Maybe you don't even have a computer. Maybe for you it's the T.V. Maybe it's your cell phone or your iPod. We live in a spoiled world, where we have a plethora of electronics in our home.
That's why I want to challenge you (and myself) to pick up your Bible before your electronics every morning for a week and see if it makes a difference in your relationship with God.
"For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens." Psalm 106:36
