Well, this is it, folks. The last day before December is upon us, and, consequently, the busy, bustling holiday season. It's the last moment of calm before the storm hits. Oh, it's true that we've all been busy up to December, but Christmas just seems to launch all of us into an extra sort of business. Concerts, Christmas cards, sporting events, music recitals, parties, shopping, buying, baking, wrapping, church services, decorating - it's a blur of trees, tinsel and turkeys. And throughout the whole season (and truly, throughout every season) we try to put our overarching focus on rejoicing with friends and family over the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. That's a lot to do in just 25 days.
But we can worry about that tomorrow. Today is our day to treasure the last quiet moment. It's our day to commit this season to God and commit to celebrate His Son, not the world. It's our day to "be still and know that He is God." It's our day to take a deep breath and soak in this moment. It's our day that the Lord has given us, so in this last quiet moment, let us rejoice and be glad in Him!
