Most people have a favourite movie version of Dickens' classic tale and are wont to watch it year after year. For our family it's Alastair Sims' 1951 version which we watch faithfully every Christmas Eve. A Christmas Carol has a lot of good in it and, as with any medium of entertainment we ingest, can spark some godly discussion as we ponder the merit in it. Redeemed Reader recently published a watch-along (or read-along) guide by John Kwasny. I know I was edified by it and I think you will be too.
There are eleven questions with detailed and unpacked answers. A few include:
Who was really dead at the beginning of the movie, Marley or Scrooge?
Compare and contrast poverty of body versus poverty of soul.
Does past abuse or neglect cause present sin?
How is greed a form of idolatry?
What is the nature of man’s salvation?
Please read the rest here! It is so good.
