If you've been following this site over the past nine months, you may remember my mention of Christian husband-and-wife musical duo, The Gray Havens, whom I wrote about here and here. Since they released the first single from their new album back in April of last year, I have been anxiously awaiting January 6th, 2015 - the promised date for their full album, Fire and Stone, to be released. And yesterday was that day.
You can listen to it all on Bandcamp, like I have (I've included it below). My favourites are probably "Inheritance," "Jack and Jill, pt. 2," and "Far Kingdom." And if you want to hear Dave Radford (lead vocalist and the husband part of the husband-wife duo's) thoughts on the latter song, check out his post at Desiring God, "Heaven Will Never Be Boring."
There is a far kingdom
A ways from here
Beyond the storm and the sea
There will be no need of darkness
And none for tears
When that far kingdom I see
There’s a river we will know
Ever clear and ever full
From the fount that overflows
In the light of the King
And when we drink it we will find
That this joy, ever full, will ever rise
And it’ll rise on, in the kingdom
