Stop and Breathe and Enjoy Right Now

Tomorrow marks December first. As if by magic, the flip of the calendar seems equivalent to hard-hitting the gas pedal.

Busyness will burst onto the scene. There will be parties and paper chains and cookie exchanges and concerts and tree trimming and turkey. Most of our Decembers are jam-packed with festivities.

And that's great. Enjoy them.

But take the time now, today, to stop and breathe and enjoy the quiet too. There is time for busyness and time for rest. There is time for caroling and time for silence, time for discussion and time for reflection.

In the midst of this dizzying season, take the little chunks of quiet time as gifts. Take the before-season. Take the after-season.

And stop and breathe and enjoy what God is doing right now - and what He has done.
