This last month has been a blur of busy. I've barely had time to breathe.
We've officially launched the Young Writers Workshop, and things are crazy. My book releases in a month and a half (!!!), and things are crazy. I'm currently writing for eight other websites, and things are crazy.
(Are you sensing a theme yet?)
So now I'm stopping. Pausing. Just for a few moments now to reflect on what is making me happy these days. In the middle of the hectic, the exhaustion, the adrenaline, the fun, the go-go-go, here are a few little, silly, simple things that are making me smile.
1. Bill Bryson. I just discovered this author based on a trusted Christian's recommendation and I checked out a stack of his books from the library. I'm currently enjoying One Summer the best.
2. Larabars. Nutritious and delicious.
3. Jess and Gabriel Conte's YouTube channel.
4. My cats.
5. New makeup. Last Saturday I walked into a MAC, Sephora, and Lush for the first time and that made me very happy.
6. The Soda Stream I got for Christmas. Homemade sparkling water for the win, yo.
7. This is Us.
8. Greek yogurt-covered raisins. Don't judge me.
9. KJ-52's new album, Jonah.
10. Psalms. These aren't just making me happy; they're actually sustaining me through these busy days.
11. Only the Good Stuff podcast. Stephen Altrogge hosts this podcast with Christian guests where they (as the title suggests) only talk about good stuff. They just chat about what they're enjoying - from the serious to the silly.
12. The fact that Spring Training starts in a few weeks. You know this is the Blue Jays' year.
