Today is my parents' anniversary. They've been married 18 years. 18 years! They really love each other. That reminds me, happy February! February always makes me think of Valentine's Day. So, happy early Valentine's Day! Valentine's Day always makes me think of love. And love makes me think of God. Did you catch all that?
Romans 5:5- "and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us."
Romans 5:8- "but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Ephesians 2:4- "But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us."
John 3:16- "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that who ever believes in Him will not die, but have eternal life."
John 16:27- "for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God."
God loves us. Whoa! That is pretty awesome, if you ask me. Totally, insanely, completely, entirely AWESOME!
This month is probably going to be pretty busy for you. Between Valentines parties, the Olympics, Abraham Lincoln's birthday (okay, maybe you don't celebrate Abe's birthday, but that's a different post). What I'm trying to say is, don't get so involved with activities during Valentine's Day (the holiday of hearts, love, and cupid) to forget about loving God, our Master, Maker, and King.
