Ephesians 6:1-4

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), 3 “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."

In the scripture above, Paul is talking to the church in Ephesus. He starts by addressing the children. He talks about how the children must obey their parents. But, why? Because:
  1. Obedience is right.
  2. Obedience is required.
  3. Obedience is rewarded.
  4. Obedience demands a responsibility.
Paul moves on to address the fathers. He talks about fathers taking responsibility over their families. There are three main responsibilities.
  1. Fathers need to teach their children obedience.
  2. Fathers need to lead their families with love.
  3. Fathers need to bring up their kids in the Lord.
