What do you think of when you hear the word 'free'? Do you think of a prisoner being released from prison and suddenly being free? Do you think of being free to share your faith without being instantly imprisoned and killed? Do you think of going to the local grocery store and buying one thing and getting another free? I must confess that I do not think of any of these things firsthand. Instead I think of two words: summer vacation. Freedom from school! Being free to do what I like instead of working on school work! That's how I felt today as I handed in my final and finished exam. I am done school for the year! I'm free! But more importantly, I finished well. My last exam: I aced it. It felt good to be free, but even better to be free and satisfied with a job well done. That reminds me of our home-school theme verse:
"Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. For we are each responsible for our own conduct." ~ Galatians 6:4-5 (NLT)
