Welcome back to another installment of Daddy's Daughter. Today, my dad preached on Mark 1:9-13, about Jesus being driven into the wilderness and tempted by Satan. We, like Jesus, all face temptation, am I right? And my dad knew that, which is why he composed a list of seven of the most common temptations. But he didn't stop there, because, really, what good would just that do? What Dad put next to each temptation is a Scripture to combat it. If you have trouble with any of the temptations on the list below, check out the Scripture next to it, and then, like David tells us in Psalm 119:11, hide it in your heart, memorize it.
- Sexual immorality (i.e. any sins to do with anything sexual) -- Ephesians 5:3
- Food or unhealthy cravings -- 1 Corinthians 10:30
- Gossip -- James 1:19-20
- Greed or money - Matthew 6:24
- Worry -- Proverbs 3:5-6
- Not wanting to read the Bible -- Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1
- This last one is for you parents out there: That it's not your responsibility to train your kids in the Word of God -- Deuteronomy 6:7
