Hello, readers, and welcome to the final part of my 4 Great Hymns and Their Stories series. Today we are looking at one of my favourite hymns: Yes, Lord, Yes.
Yes, Lord, Yes
Yes, Lord, yes, to your will and to your way. I'll say yes, Lord, yes, I will trust you and obey. When your spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I'll agree. And my answer will be yes, Lord, yes.
We can sing this song, but how often do we willingly (yes, willingly) say it, or think it? How often do we willingly say yes to God's will above ours? Saying yes to God means saying no to our fleshly desires. It's hard, but with God's help we can do anything. Through reading our Bible, talking to God, and worshiping with believers we can make it easier to say yes to God and no to Satan. Our fleshly desires come directly from the devil. He tries to tempt us with the 'easy road,' our fleshly desires. We need to turn away from those temptations and put on the armor of God. The narrow road may be harder, but it leads to abundant life with Christ. Yes, Lord, yes.
