Hello, readers. Today, as we continue our series on preparing for our Savior's birth, we will be looking at a topic that is very important.
Q: What are the two holidays people of all religions and groups come to church on? A: Christmas and Easter
If you are a person that goes to church on Christmas, then lives their own lives until the Easter church service, then you are in trouble. Church is a special time each week, devoted to fellowship with believers and praising God's name. Don't give me the excuse that 'church is not for you' because it is. Christmas and Easter are special times at the church, but church is not just a building that houses a group of people on holidays. Church is the believers. It's for anyone, any day. The first church didn't even have a building. When my church was founded we didn't have a building. We met in a community center and a school, but now we meet in our own building that God so graciously provided. The point that I'm trying to make is that church is not a building of perfect people allowing you to enter on religious holidays. The church wants you. They want to see you and meet with you. They want you to come just as you are, any day, any time. (Well, that's not really true. We'd prefer if you didn't come and visit at 2:00 in the morning.) Only 101 days until Christmas!
- Don't wait for Christmas to come to church, come right now.
