SPOTLIGHT: Book of the Month

Well, readers, once again, it's Spotlight time. This month the thing that caught my eye is one of the best books I've ever read (or am reading, since I'm not quite finished it yet). It's written by twin brothers, Brett and Alex Harris. Their names may sound familiar to you (I've blogged about them once or twice before). The twins started out with a blog called TheRebelution (a cross between revolution and rebellion) when they were sixteen, and decided to write their first book, Do Hard Things, when they were eighteen. Now, three years and hundreds of conferences, dozens of T.V., magazine, radio, and book appearances later, they wrote a second book, called Start Here.

The point of TheRebelution (which is still an active blog that you can check out by clicking here) was to tell teens to rebel against low expectations and be rebelutionaries in a society that says, "Teens: have fun, party, live it up, and have absolutely no responsibilities." The Harris brothers wrote Do Hard Things, with the same idea as their blog. Start Here is the sequel that answers the question: How do I start doing hard things? I would highly recommend this book.

This is what the back of Start Here reads:

Do Hard Things inspired thousands of young people around the world to make the most of the teen years. Now, Alex and Brett Harris are back and ready to tackle the questions that Do Hard Things inspired: How do I get started? What do I do when I get discouraged? What's the best way to inspire others? Filled with stories and insights from Alex, Brett, and other real-life rebelutionaries, Start Here is a powerful and practical guide to doing hard things, right where you are.

Are you ready to take the next step and blast past mediocrity for the glory of God? START HERE.
